1960 Reunion - 19th June 2020

Dear All

Alan and I met recently to discuss the arrangements for the Class of 60 Reunion

The visit to the new Boroughmuir School is confirmed at 16.30 on Friday 19th June - can those attending advise, so that we know numbers. There is limited parking at the school which may be available at that time - if not Fountain Park Car Park. Some thoughts for those not with cars to use the bus or even walk to Meggetland where we will have dinner.

Pre dinner drinks at Meggetland from about 18.00, dinner at 19.00 in the private function room upstairs. Catering at Meggetland is provided by Mackenzies ( you may remember from our last reunion in Colinton)

Set menu - smoked haddock and prawn fish cake, lemon and chervil dressing, supreme of chicken with Brie and mango, roasted pepper passata, white chocolate and raspberry creme  brûlée

Vegetarian - Ogen melon cup filled with poached berries, crowned with passion fruit sorbet, pastry tartlet filled with root vegetables and goats cheese, balsamic dressing, white chocolate and raspberry creme  brûlée

Coffee and mints

Can you please advise if you have any allergies or dietary requirements and indicate if you would like the vegetarian option.

The cost of the meal is £25 and should be paid preferably by bank transfer prior to the event, alternatively cash on the night is acceptable.

All drinks to be paid for on the night

As far as Saturday is concerned it was felt that many of the travellers might like to spend time in Edinburgh or with friends, so although two tee times have been booked at Craigielaw Golf Club at 11.00 and complimentary golf is still available, with food afterwards, this along with other previously discussed activities is as ever entirely optional - but please advise if you plan to golf or join the golfers for a late lunch about 15.00.

See below for what we think is the final list of respondents and do let us know if correct and any others we may have missed. We know you may have responded before but a final reply would be very welcome, including of course your menu choice and golf participation on the Saturday. We plan to post information of the reunion on the Boroughmuir FP website so it’s always possible we may find others who may like to join us!

We are both looking forward to catching up with the Class of 60!!

Kind Regards

Evlyn and Alan

Mary McCallum nee Bowman

I was a pupil from 51-56 first in 1Bi with Miss Cameron, who got married that year and became Mrs Menzies, as Register teacher. I then moved into 2A3  with Mr Kidd our lovely Latin teacher. I was in the Drama Club and remember in particular Kay Gallie who became a professional actress in Scotland I believe. I moved to Bristol in 1966. In touch with Helen Middlemiss, Irene Campbell and Jeanette Brand still.

Does anyone else remember me?
